Wanted to share a “little” secret to help with your mobilizations. “Piccolo” traction is a term used to describe the “small” traction performed immediately prior to the desired mobilization glide. It’s intended to separate the joint surfaces and allow for an easier glide without the worry of one surface blocking the other. Gave you a couple of pictures of a palmar wrist glide below for example. Obviously, the second picture depicts the use of a “piccolo” traction.
